Day Two: A Room with a View
Today’s Prompt: If you could zoom through space in the speed of light, what place would you go to right now?
Today’s twist: organize your post around the description of a setting.
Okay here goes…teleporting:
The sweetest scents invade my senses each and every time I walk between each aisle. I open to whatever I find. My imagination runs wild as I see all the shapes and colors. There’s every variety imaginable. Who wouldn’t love to be here. As my head turns towards the ceiling the glass windows reflect pinpoint rays of the sun. The sky is the clearest blue ripe for the best kind of dreaming. As I climb the spiraling staircase to get to where I want to be, I imagine all the others who have climbed these stairs and wonder what they learned while they were here.
My mind floats back to the time when I first wandered up to the top. The silence was like the warmest cloak around my body. I felt like I was welcomed into a secret society. There was no sense of time. As I looked around me, there was so much to take in. I felt as though my brain didn’t have the capacity to fully handle what I saw. I had complete sensory overload and it was the most awesome feeling. I had found my place. As I stand here now, the memories flood through me. I embrace the energy I feel here. I recall walking over to a table, grasping a heavy wooden chair, taking a seat I soak it all in. I know what I came for but that is a distant memory.
Every time I think about the stacks in the USC Doheny library I get all nostalgic. This was where I discovered a lot about myself through words. I daydreamed a lot within those walls. I dreamed of being a writer. I wanted absorb those books into my veins. As soon as I get the chance, I am gonna go there for a visit.
