What Lies Beneath
It starts with the chafing of the skin
The flesh is slowly removed inch by inch
The tender tissue exposed
Oxygen hits and the tissue stings
You cut my flesh with your judgments
Your words slice razor thin through each vessel connected to my heart
I’m sure you believe your thoughts are helpful
I’m certain that you think what you say can shape my future
Your words make me bleed profusely
The tears I have cried leave blood stains on my pillow
I am slowly dying on the inside
