So I know it’s been real long minute since I’ve blogged anything so here goes.
Ayurvedic Hair Care
I’ve been wanting to try ayurveda herbs as an alternative to commercial hair products. If you want to read up on ayurveda, here are two good sources:

So on Saturday, I did my first mix. I loved the results but I didn’t love the application process ewwww lol. I started by creating a tea using 1/4 cup dried hibiscus flower petals & 2 tbsp of fenugreek with 2 cups of filtered water which I allowed to steep for an hour. This yielded about a cup and half. I let the tea cool for about 20 mins. To a half a cup of the tea I added 2 tbsp each of alma powder & neem powder. Since I prepoo’d with coconut oil, I was ready to apply the paste. I sectioned my hair in fours and applied until all the paste was gone. After the paste was applied to my hair and scalp I let it sit with a plastic bag for 1 1/2 hours. I cowashed x 3 and did an ACV rinse to remove all the paste from my hair. Afterwards my hair was SOOOOOOOOOOOO SOFT! It felt soooo fluffy. I love the fact that my hair smells like hibiscus flowers. YUM! I didn’t wanna do anything to it lol. Now that application process…ugh. I started out using an applicator brush but ended up just using my hands. No one told me to get gloves. That stuff was everywhere. I know for next time.
