So You Say You Black

So You Say You Black

Are you black enough

Are you black enough

Are you black enough

What determines blackness?

Is it the color of my skin?

Is the way I wear my hair?

Is it the way I speak?

Perhaps it is in my actions

The way I carry my frame

Perhaps it is in my struggle

It must be my ability to survive………

I have said all this to say MY people love yourselves. No matter what shade, size, dialect, style of dress or style of hair you are still BLACK you can’t change that. When we learn to give up this brainwashed ideal that the fairer the skin or the finer grain of hair will grant us success? These are the ideas that society has clouded our minds with for generations to keep us separated. Stop allowing little insignificant things to keep you from acknowledging your brothers and sisters. ONE DAY WE GON LEARN!!!
