She wanted to give me her ring
She said it belonged to her mother
She felt I would make the ring feel home
She felt that I was the only person she could give it to
She only wanted it to go some place that had good energy
When she looked into my eyes
I saw the sorrow reflected on her face
I am not sure I can handle the responsibility
I felt like the weight of the world would be resting on my finger
I knew her mother’s energy would be apart of this ring
I felt humbled and honored
I questioned whether she really should give it to me
I am questioning it right this moment
I know the day is coming when she’ll want to see how it looks resting on my finger
I am suddenly afraid
